Am I eligible, even if I am not attending a French-first-language school?
Destination Clic is not a French immersion program and is not designed to teach French. It was created in 1977 as an opportunity for francophone students attending a French-first-language school outside of Quebec to take three weeks of classes, have fascinating experiences, make cultural discoveries, and form new friendships. Most importantly, students learn that there are other francophones just like them living all over Canada, and they develop a sense of cultural kinship and identity with their francophone roots.
If you are (or will soon be) 16 years old and in Grade 11, you could be eligible for the Explore program, which is for English-speakers to learn or perfect French and for French-speakers to learn or perfect English. For more information on the Explore program, visit www.myexplore.ca.
There may also be other provincial or territorial programs available for your age group. You can contact your provincial or territorial ministry/department of education to find out more.
We wish you the best of luck!
